there is rumored to be a slightly "delay" programmed into the stock ECU that prevents you from getting as hard of a launch as you normally could get because they wanted to make hard launches safer for the average joe. I'm not sure if there is any truth at all to this rumor, but it would make sense. However, I've never seen a stock honda that had enough torque off the line to induce any amount of torque steer, however, downshifts could probably do it in some torqueyer cars? But yes, it's more or less due to the shifting of weight and transaction caused by a hard bit of acceleration.
