it has to do with the FRM cylinder walls
"burns" is such a harsh word
i prefer "consumes"

it is also not obvious by smell or sight even under WOT that my car consumes oil.
so it is normal because of the way the rings are set against the FRM (silica inpregnated aluminum) cylinder walls
