Has anyone else read Dave Coleman's tech article on the teardown of an SRT-4 motor...?

It's in the October issue of SCC. I was impressed at how sturdy the internals are. Coleman alludes - on many levels - that this motor is built like the proverbial brick shithouse.

That said, I still would wait and see how these cars fare with another 2 or 3 years of really hard abuse [and depreciation] first.
