During the 4th generation, it went like this:

1990 - Accord EX was top shelf.

1991- Accord SE was introduced, and was a step up from the EX. The SE came standard with leather seating, upgraded stereo system, the first model to introduce ABS, and a more powerful 140 hp F22 vs. the 130hp version in the EX.

1992- There were no 1992 Accord SEs, the SE was dropped. The EX then became the top shelf Accord..benefiting from the 140 hp engine and four-wheel disc brakes with ABS. The EX however did not get the SE's sound system.

1993- The SE was re-introduced, and became the top of the line model once again. Standards included the leather seating, Bose stereo, ABS and dual side airbags. However, unlike in 1991, the SE and EX both had the 140 hp F22.


As for the 1993 10th Anniversary Accord being nothing more than an LX with painted moldings, that is incorrect... the 10th Anniversary also featured dual side airbags, leather, 4-wheel disc brakes, ABS and the EX/SE's 140 hp engine.
