I've read the bible many a times. and I'm the first to admit that I don't fully understand comprehend it but I don't recall anything about the any of the old testament talking about an earth centered universe.

Well not all, I stand corrected most of them. You are right about Galileo being hated for pointing his telescope. I meant to say Copernicus, his book even had a preface that said his findings were not meant to be taken seriously. The question I was asking is whether devout Christians still believe in a earth centered astronomy, or has science taken its toll and do they now realize that the scriptures are wrong.
