Aka: you installed aftermarket springs BUT your engine blew up. There's no way the springs had any effect on your motor. But if you installed a cold air intake and you drove through a puddle which sucked up water and seized your engine then of course that would be your fault.

Like CivicSi said, they have to prove whatever you did had a direct effect on what went wrong. I have a few friends with heavily modified cars bring their cars back for under warantee... (Tranny rebuild, Clutch replacement, ECU malfunction, etc)
