It's not like he's buying some aftermarket kmart special tranny... it's oem shit just used, so how can he buy anything better than oem?
How many of us have completely tore down a motor or tranny to see what shape its in before we buy it?... I'd guess probably none of us, especially with a tranny that's under $150. Now with a motor, you might do some investigating if you have the chance... like remove the oil pan and valve cover but not much you can do when buying a used tranny except pay and pray.
Now maybe he's gone through 4 because of a combo of bad luck and poor driving though:naughty:
I was only driving the car once when a tranny crapped out. And it was a 1st to 2nd shift at about 3500 rpms just driving home at night, it just kind of locked up between gears and stuck there.
You can't argue for 80 bucks (the 2nd tranny i bought) and i wasn't about to take the time to take it apart to check synchros cause the whole point of buying a 80 dollar tranny is the fact that if it breaks who cares? Tailights leaking have nothing to do with mechanical moving parts that can wear out. APC is just sh*t quality.
