Oh, BTW... I've re-read the entire thread and been doing some thinking and this is what I've come up with...

I think we have two issues here....

First, I think the noise is entirely unrelated to the loose-as-a-goose pedal. The noise after thinking about it, sounds like it could definitely be your throw out bearing. I've heard of guys with bad ones or guys that replace their clutch but neglect to replace the bearing and they've described the same sound.

Now the pedal like I said, I believe is unrelated to the noise and probably just coincidental. I would check the things I previously posted....

Then again I could be entirely wrong, I've never had a bad pressure plate or throw out bearing... just my .02:thumbup:
