All the Honda guy said is that the NSX is going to be replaced with something similar to the HSC. Nothing else has come from credible information within Honda. We all know that Honda is very secretive about its upcoming models and that recently all of the V6-powered cars have received pretty sizeable power increases. So yeah, maybe the IMA system wasn't ready for production whenever the comments were made about it. I certainly don't think an IMA V6 is a highly likely proposition for the next NSX. I'm just not ready to completely discount the possibility.

Presumably Honda would want the NSX to be competitive with the Porsche 911 which weighs in at about 3000 lbs and has 320 hp. I'm thinking that the HSC/NSX is going to be significantly lighter than the current car. Aluminum fabrication and design has progressed a ton since the original NSX came out and even though crash standards now require a sturdier chassis I think Honda will be able to trim a good amount of weight.
