One thing that I don't think is right is that (at least around here), Police salaries work in an indirect proportion to how busy you are. In The departments that sit around and don't do anything all day long because they are in some quiet little rich town, cops make $100k a year (as a patrolman). Meanwhile, jobs where the guys are running around like crazy all day long and litterally risking their lives everyday they leave their house to go to work (ie NYPD), they make $35-$40k a year. I know the quiet places have a much wealthier tax base so they can pay the cops more, but its messed up. New York City cops get shot/assaulted/etc. on a daily basis, but get peanuts for it. Its really not fair.
