Yeah, there is a point when the camber kit purchase is justified. I think I'm kinda right on the fence tire wear wise. I may end up with one if these new tires wear quick. After maybe 3K miles, I can tell a slight sign of inside wear on my new tires, so I'm considering a camber kit but haven't decided yet. You can always get one later if you aren't sure.
No, I don't think trimming really has any big negative effects, but it's kinda nice if you don't have to do it. Some guys rub occasionally, know they can trim, but still don't just cause they rub so infrequently or it doesn't bug them, so some rubbing may not even be a big deal. It's just a matter of how bad it rubs, how frequently, and if it bugs you.
Like LX4CYL said, a lot of guys with a sport drop don't get camber kits, but some do.
