I can do that in my car as well.
Its a matter of not popping the clutch out but rather of letting it out slowly. When you do this it doesn't jerk the car causing it to stall but rather lets it slow roll out and when you finally let the clutch all the way out it keeps going.

yeah, i know how to do it....i just didn't think it was supposed to. i'm complaining, because it's good for traffic. just wanted make sure it wasn't broken.
