The NGK's are inexpensive, lik $10 or so for 4 new plugs. Use a torque wrench and anti-sieze compound. Check your wires for resistance, if they aren't up to par, swap them for new ones. You can also check/replace distributer cap and rotor. Replace all fluids, and when you have the timing belt done, it's customary to have the water pump replaced at the same time. Check/replace your pads and rotors.

Basically if you plan on doing any of it yourself, it's just worth it to you buy a Helms manual so you'll know what needs to be done and how to do it.
