I thought 1998 was ODB2b? Oh well.
My buddy (Slacker on this board) has a 1999 Civic EX with a 1996 JDM B18C (Si-R) motor, and OBD1 USDM ECU and a conversion harness between the ECU and the factory wiring harness. The ECU is stock and not chipped.
We had to do some wiring to get the IAB and VTEC working right since the JDM motors do not have the oil pressure switch on the VTEC solenoid and the factory wiring harness did not have the IAB wiring.
The only mods he has is an AEM short ram intake and a Thermal cat-back exhaust. We also upgraded the fuel pump to a Walbro and replaced the fuel filter and the fuel line from the fuel filter to the fuel rail. He also does not have A/C or P/S.
With all that said he is dumping a lot of fuel and has awefull gas mileage. His back bumper is covered in this filthy black slime and when he steps on the gas there is a large cloud of black smoke that comes out the back.
Acura has no clue, Honda will not touch it, our next step is to get a FPR and see what the pressure is and if we can turn it down
