I just HATE when aluminum alloy wheels, like my OEM ones, get filthy from rain, whatever---and the next sunny day you have, the rims look so dull and so ugly and go completely unnoticed. The black road gunk starts to collect in the spokes and the rims look small, unimpressive and just dont look right in the wheelwells. With chrome, they can be a little dirty but the sun will still hit them as chrome, and will sparkle...there is something about chrome that just looks better, IMO, than standard alloy.
my painted+clearcoated wheels have almost the same effect. still not as good as chrome...
