Well, don't forget, hybrid technology can offer some amazing performance benefits, not just fuel efficiency. I guess the trick is to get more out of it in terms of performance than what you lose through added weight and cost. I think Honda would add IMA to its flagship sports car and amortize the cost of the IMA system over the model life cycle, which with the NSX, has been over 13 years. Granted the first few years you might lose money, but the NSX is a low volume car anyways. Its a small price to pay to have an outstanding car. A new NSX with a reworked V6 wouldn't really cut it in this day and age.
