actually, major advances and changes have been made in that field. the dangerous ones were the copper wire version in the 70s and 80s. the modern version are quite safe and 100% effective.
Only thing I don't get is how they get the T shape IUD pass the cervix OS?
I know an applicator is used, but other then that the OS is pretty small.
