I think google might be dabbleing in the "pay us and we'll bump you up on the results" deal.... as of right now....they are the only search engine that doesn't taint their results with companies that pay them.... I'm hopeing it's just a fluke and that's not changing....
some sort of spyware gets on your computer and creates a file called hosts. what this hosts file, in essense, does is when you type in a web address, it directs you to whatever IP is specified, even if it is wrong. the hosts file in question has every possible instance of google but has an ip address for another search engine that is run by some ad company.
