I recently bought a 1990 Honda Civic SI that was a theft recovery. I cant get it to start but it back fires. I checked the plugs, wires, igntion coil and the ignitor and they all checked out fine. The car i getting gas. When i bought the car the ignition switch had been taken out and replaced. Today i was lookin at the steering wheel and noticed that the spot behind where the switch i ssupposed to be has been crackied open. I was wondering if this might be the reason why it wont start. Also if you have any other ideas that it might possibly be.
