Mainly the reason for the high pricing for AEM is that their intakes are designed specifically for the make and model of car. They are tested and have a C.A.R.B. E.O. Number. What is that you ask? Direct from AEM's website
"AEM intake systems carry or are pending approval for a California Air Resources Board Executive Order (CARB EO) number exempting them from the prohibitions of California Vehicle Code (CVC) 27156 which states that you cannot modify your car in the area of the emission control system. The C.A.R.B. E.O. number allows you to legally install and use the AEM intake system on your car."
There are plenty of other reason why they are priced so high... anyone else with their 2 cents feel free to comment on my post..
JDM.. it stands for Japanese Domestic Market (like USDM over here) ... in layman terms JDM is usualy parts and what not made over in Japan only. Since they are rare here, lots of ppl want them.
