When you say that your car feels like it's going to fall apart, what do you mean?

Do you mean it's just harsh? Unfortunately, if that's the case, I'm of the opinion that changing your shocks will do nothing for you. In such a case, you're either actually lower than 1.5" and riding the bumpstops, or your springs have rates that are incredibly stiff (in which case your ride would also be bouncy and maybe shocks will help...). I suppose that it could somehow be possible that your stock shocks have just seized or become very stiff on the compression stroke, but I doubt it.

Do you mean that it's bouncy? If that's the case, yes, upgrading your shocks will help control the bounciness as long as your spring rate is within the shock's rebound damping capabilities.
