When you're talking about compression ratios, it refers moreso to the block than the head. You can mill the head to reduce the stroke and therefore increase compression but .... forget that for now.
If you're talking about the EX (D16y8) engine from a 96-00 Civic than it's a 9.6:1 CR
9.6:1 cr... wow... that's kinda high then. cuz in the mag they recommend something like 8.5:1cr or something like that. but i dont' think i will be boosting too much... maybe like only about 6psi... so would i still need to modify and do head works?
