as for mine, its brand new. first of all, its sold by a store and not an individual. i would not buy from an inidividual. the guys also have a few thousand positive ratings so he seems to be trustworth. also, each component inside the box is indiviually sealed and i broke open each little plastic bag myself. 
also, you can smell it if its new or not, you know what i mean.
