what you want to have tuned determines how long you're on the dyno. figure for a basic bolt on car with cams and a vafc, 1-1.5 hrs. remember you have to make a pull, let the car cool down in between runs, make the changes, make another pull, repeat.
good, reputable shops will know what to do.
