Oh my. You're starting to sound like me. ESPECIALLY driver retesting!!! No sh*t - I was just talking about this today!! Nobody up in CT knows how to drive for sh*t either.
actually, the joke is about Maryland drivers. There's a few of them online that I've seen teased on their driving skillz, or lack thereof....
personally, I think I'm a great driver. 1 at fault accedent thats already off my record, 2 not at fault wrecks, and 3 or 4 tickets total (defensive driving owns me, and so do state troopers on interstate highways

h: ).
I dunno what took me so long to reply..... :dunno:
The culture that mtv has bred is f-in gross.

Until I figure out how to break up quotes and systematically reply to them, I'm going to have to broad stroke a reply for you.
I just copy the last [ / B ][ / QUOTE ] (minus the spaces) of the quote, and paste it where needed.
for example, if you quote this. and want to reply to this. but then want to say something else, you go:
[ B ][ QUOTE ]for example, if you quote this [ / B ][ / QUOTE ]
blah blah blah, this is your reply....
[ B ][ QUOTE ]and you want to reply to this. but then you want to say something else, you go:[ / B ][ / QUOTE ]
ok, we got the picture.....
Which is: You sound like me. I can't f-in' believe it, but you do. I can see me sitting at my favorite pub throwing down my whiskey declaring how perfect the world would be if only (18secferio fill in all that stuff you previously mentioned).
eh, I think anyone with half a brain will draw the same conclusions as me. It just takes being critical. and common sense, which someone needs to patent and sell on tv.....
Choice over-rated?
thats just my take. I think back to my girlfriends ancesters, native americans, and them roaming the open plains. Following bison, eating all of it, picking weeds and berry's.
simple, effecient, only whats nessisary. But perhaps the only true happyness in man is in times of anarchy..... Or death.
Maybe. How about people's ability to use it?
Maybe intelligent people, but our society is anything but intelligent. People rather not think about things, since it just keeps bringing up more questions. And then, lo and behold, they find themselves back where they started....
So, does it come down to the dynamic of the individual?
I would think so. Problem is making a generation of clear-thinkers without making them all the same. We need our diversity, but we need a central point of veiw that we can all agree with.
Can we all think for ourselves? I mean, there it is, right? Can masses of Americans think for themselves?
no. I don't think most people can think for themselves. Thats why alot of people run to religion, the strip club, and the hair saloon.
I just still believe that ......... F. You've got me thinking again. The reason i'm a capitolist is because my boss wouldn't be able to afford the capitol to run his business and pay me without it.
I see your argument, but capitolism also allows mom and pop to be run out of buisness by super-mega-giganto-mart-plus and corp.

my parents were born and raised in india. they were married by the route of arranged marriage. basically they met for a few days, and then their parents told them that they were to be married.
they grew up never even giving much of a thought to sex until they had to. they never developed any kind of "game" as its called around here.
growing up, i was pretty much by myself in school (to an extent.) I just didnt have a clue about how kids were communicating with each other. apprently they were throwing innuedno at each other, and it was completely going over my head. in most settings, that was what mattered, game to kids in my school. the minute anybody started talking about something that wasn't innuedo related, people reacted as if their fun had been ruined.
i've just noticed that while sex is a normal and fun part of being human, in america it seems that its a form of entertainment. and to an overwhemling extent so. when i've gone to india, i've noticed that attitudes there have changed. they're a bit more open towards random dating and stuff, but traditions still hold alot of water there.
interesting read.....
anyways, to conclude this, i guess i think that america just needs a big ass buttwhipping. if anybody has seen robin williams - live on broadway, he makes a joke that the french call americans "cultureless." while this nation IS a mixture of soo many different types of peoples, it also lacks a center identity that other countries have. there is no tradition here, unless mandated by your family. thus, the next couple of generations of americans will be in a unique position of perhaps being "between" cultures.
thats the problem. Like I mentioned above, we don't have a center, or a rally point.
I was thinking about that, and perhaps a new look on religion might help. I think someone needs to reinterpit what God really ment to say, because I think alot of religions, while getting most of it right, still come up a bit short. I think a hybrid of a little bit of everything (and still staying monothesitic) is something of a nessisty.
Again, my "we're all god" philosophy would come into play here. Anyone in the dark on this, refer to the "God" thread in this lovely forum.
but something that
REALLY gets to me about this place.....
you can't just say hello to a stranger. People think you're loony. Women think you want to get in your pants. Men think you're gay.
There's such a lack of love in this country, its increadible. Everyone's just so caught up with themselves that they don't care about the neighbor, and what they think, and how they are. Why should they? They have their own problems to deal with.....
I'm still set that the biggest help would be drug legalization and education on the proper uses of such drugs, including (and probably limited to) pot, acid, heroin (maybe not so much), and mushrooms. I think back to a few acid and shroom trips I've taken, and you wouldn't beleive the insight I've gained from them, not only about myself, but about universal truths -
About ideas beyond the everyday experience.
About the big plan that God has, and how it effects every one of us.
About how not everything that happens will be good, and that some of the bad stuff happens to underserving people, but ultimatly it makes us stronger/wiser/better.
About how we're all part of God, the "collective human consciousness", and here we are, a huge metaphysical circle, all looking into this one point, this one universe, this one reality, and this one point, the universe, is the only constant. People will look at the same thing and get two ideas from it. We need to welcome diversity and idea's, listen to the criticism, take it into account, and then act accordingly. Problem is, our government is too set in their own ways. They like the 'tried and true' meathod.
I, personally, like the "rightious" meathod....
I'll tell you, only one thing will get this country togeather. The second coming of Christ.....
