Yeah, but if they didn't drop the compression ratio in the B17A, it would have sat squarely between the B16A and B18C. It already has 117ft-lbs, and the HP would have been more like 165-170 if they gave them B16A pistons.

Another thing that helps the G2 GS-R is the gearing. It has a huge gearing advantage over the RS/LS/GS and the B16A transaxles.

But, it's not going to be "blazin' fast" either. Remember, the Japanese lower models where powered by a SOHC ZC, so of course a B16A is an upgrade from that.
