Default hey, posting for a friend, loss of oil?

i dont think im getting a straight story here, but what do you think is wrong?

I am sure I will have to post this over on one of the Honda boards but for those that have some ideas to share I would love to hear them.

The OTM is a 2000 Accord Coupe 4cyl 5spd with just shy of 60k miles. About three months ago CEL comes on while my wife is on the way to work. So I pick the car up get the code pulled and check things over visually. Code is a vtec error so that is a bit generic. It turns out that the car is low on oil, very low. There are no leaks and it does not burn oil. So despite the fact that I still had a mostly empty 5qt jug of Mobil 1 onthe shelf and both my wife and I remember me putting the oil in at last change I must suck up my pride and admit that I must have under filled. I get the car checked out and they reset the code, dealer found no issues either.

I have checked the oil since that change but only once or twice and the level was fine. Well last night the CEL comes on again. Once again it is very low on oil and the same vtec error code is present. Once again there seem to be no leaks I can find and the car is still not burning oil. Where the hell is my oil going??? Engine bay on this car is clean with no grunge found only thing is a bit of dust that builds up between cleanings. Not a single spot on the driveway. No burning oil smell, nothing strange at all.

Now I know there is no little leprechaun that is draining three of my four quarts of oil every few months so what can I check? Where could the oil go and not be burned off or deposited on the ground?
