You can remove some of the overlap through tuning of adjustable cam gears. Still, the setting with the least overlap might mess up the timing so much that you make less power than if you run a little more overlap.
If you're planning on a turbo, I would skip the cams for now. You can make a ton of power with other means through forced induction--cams should be the route you choose once your other options have been exhausted. Maybe I would get a set of turbo cams to make more power for a particular boost level without having to build up the bottom end to take more boost but yeah. You can put 260 hp to the wheels with a properly tuned turbo setup on a stock-internals GSR motor. If you really need to get past that then I would worry about the cams.
(It's still good however to have adjustable cam gears with a turbo setup because tuning them on a dyno can yield pretty solid improvements in driveability and power.)
