I stand by both statements!

I just don't get the point of getting a car that's more than you can handle, or will be more expensive to mod because you're scared of doing the work.
I've seen guys at the track who have never driven at a track before (road course), brand new cars, flip them, crash them, etc, etc, only because the car was too much for them to handle. And this is after they PAID SOMEONE to put the mods on their cars.
It's just sad!

Why not start small, mod whatcha got, or spend less money, and do a swap?

Ever seen a starlet at the drag strip? Guys throw rotaries in them, V-8's, etc, and they haul ass. What starlet came stock with anything other than a carbed 4 banger? My point is that there is always room for improvement, and once you get over the fear to mod, you can go balls out, and have something better than a stock b16. You just have to know where you're going before you do it!
