Actually, I disconnected BOTH hoses, because I removed the reservoir to clean it. The return hose is the one that doesn't go directly to the pump, and that return hose is the one that spits out fluid when you run the steering back & forth.

My specs say the fluid capacity is 1.54 quarts, which is 1.45 liters. But when I refilled, it didn't take that much. Maybe 2 or 3 bottles (about 1 liter). So obviously a bunch of fluid still stays in the rack or somewhere.

Yes, 16oz. is one pint. But they're right about using 3 bottles for each drain/fill.
