all the small lights in the AC are easily replacable with LEDs, except the two main bulbs in the back. Do some searching around HAN and you can find the right combination of LEDs and capacitors to solder in.

Yes you are correct, all you would have to do is replace the blue tranparent pieces with red ones, or color the bulbs and simply take out the blue transparencies.
