I have done a couple friend's cars and it came right off. On my own and most of my friend's cars, it was a bitch. If you are not replacing the struts and are only doing the springs, you can remove enough bolts to other pieces down there, push the strut towards the outside of the wheelwell and remove and replace the springs without the hassle of that bolt.
