Just because cars aren't in the same price league doesn't necessarily mean they automatically must have more horsepower. There's no logic or common sense in that. A BMW 330i driver doesn't really concern himself with the fact that at half the price he could waltz away with a more powerful SRT-4. Also, the Z3 initially came with an underpowered I-4 as well. And upcoming roadsters, such as the Pontiac Solstice, are in the same price range and are supposedly coming equipped with far more powerful engines. That was my point that if Mazda was going to bother coming out with the RS Coupe they should have at least thought ahead and perhaps made an effort to increase the car's power (that is the theme these days I think).
