Will my 93 coupe cat-back exhaust fit on my friends 96 coupe?

Ive been looking for a new muffler for a while cause my N1 is waaay too loud. I found a place that sells the Magnaflow cat-back for like 280 shipped. I also can get a Magnaflow universal muffler for like 100 shipped. Should i just buy the muffler OR sell my friend my exhaust, and get the new cat-back?
