No the seatbelt is not DOT approved and even then you have to submit in writing the information on the seatbelt and the vehicle it is being mounted to in order to get a paper that says you are legal to have them in that cvehicle...plus an $80 filing fee.
Yeah I'm waiting for the day some cop pulls me over for that as well.
