Take identical cars and run them with different oil's and viscositiys for hundreds of thousands of miles on a dyno or somethin similar and see whiche engines wear out faster. D'ya think maybe that's EXACTLY what Honda did to come up with their recommendations for viscosity?
I don't let my cars sit & idle to warm up. I sit long enough to put on my seatbelt & glasses, fix the mirrors 'cause the kids moved them... maybe 30 seconds. If it's cold I have to wait a bit longer for the windows to clear. But I WON'T drive hard until it's warmed up. Sometimes I just have to piss off the person behind me :angry: trying to get out of the neighborhood onto the highway, because I won't pull out unless the space is big enough so I don't have to hammer on my cold engine.
