i was merging on the highway the other day, in 4th gear at about 4500RPM my car started knocking and shooting out blue smoke.

I got new spark plugs a year ago (NGK plugs and wires) and im not quite sure what's causing this. I think it goes away with premium fuel, but i wanted to ask if there coule be something busted with me engine?
