Default Skunk2 Catback installed

Ok, finally after a month of waiting, My skunk2 Exhaust arrived on saturday, about an hour after I called up the guy bought it from saying I was calling my credit card company and declining payment. Oh well. This is on a 2001 4cyl Coupe. So yesterday, (sunday) I set out to install it. The engineering of the hanger system is far from perfect. Take out the Old exhaust, easy, Had to use a little liquid wrench on one of the Cat Nuts, Oh well, it burned off later. Go to put the exhaust in, But the gasket for the cat is too big, the Catalytic Converter's Heat shield is in the way. Nothing a set of vise grips can't fix. Finally had to get the gasket on there at close as possible, and then just torque down the bolts to seat it. Next, the hangers are all off by about an inch. They all need to be moved forward an inch. The stock rubber hangers are at an angle now (sorta like \\ ). And Because of this, the last hanger, by the muffler, hits the rear bumper. Oh well, nohing a cutting wheel wont fix. Next, the first frame hanger's support bar, triangulates to give it more strength. But the problem is, the support peice goes toward the back, it wants to go right where a suspension crossmember is. (it looks like this: |\ should be like this /| . Had to break out the cutting wheel again. Cut through the support bar about 1/4" from the piping, and cut the weld where it attaches to the hanger. OK, everything fits good now. While bolting everything tight, I strip the bolt on the catalytic converter a little bit, but you cont replace it it seems, its either welded or pressed in there. It holds it tight enought, and in conjunction with the other 2 bolts, there are no leaks. Sound like a reason to buy a high flow cat to me. Other than that, I am really impressed with the unit. It looks great, and sounds excellent. Nice deep tone. Not loud at idle or light cruising, but when you open it up, it sounds great. This is with the silencer out also. If you have access to a cutoff tool, or even a dremel, I would recommend it. If not, I would wait a little bit for them to fix it. Maybe mine was just defective, oh well.

I emailed Skunk2 about this last night, and informed them, so hopefully they will fix it. I paid $550 total for it shipped. I will take and post pictures this evening.
