correct me if i'm wrong, but a stock cv shaft should be able to hold with roughly stock horsepower, right?

I was with my friend in the village tonight, and saw one of my other friends in his 92 prelude... at a light we were gonna "race" just for shits and giggles. The light turned green and we both let out out clutches... only I didnt go anywhere. Snapped the shaft.... kinda embarrasing too, seeing how its labor day weekend and there is a ton of people around.. h:

The worst part, my shafts are under a year old... I guess I could understand if they had 200kmi on them.
