Maybe it's cause you're an ass, ans she can't be relaxed around you. Ass.
Anyway, just keep working at it. Do it late at night. No fear of other cars on the road, or other people in the car. I've taught about 6-7 people how to drive a stick. Some are naturals. Others are not. I can't imagine never driving a stick again...
