The ECT (Jim as you now know also from the other thread) is not located on the water jacket and it's the problem.

I have noticed the fan motor makes noises and slows down at times so it's on it's last leg and about to go out. I assume this is what put the load and blew the fuse.

I'll replace the fan motor asap and the issue this thread dealt with is now sloved so thank you everyone for the help.
