Not quite. Stock for stock, a B18B Civic will run a 1/4 mile about the same as a B16A. The loss of torque makes a big difference.
I would never get a B16A over the B18B unless I got a
really sweet deal on the '16. If I somehow did end up with a B16, I would swap in B17 guts or an entire B17A or B18C shortblock before I did any building.
