you can't compare the fm901s v. avid v4s, since the people who are rating the v4s are comparing them to similar tires. fm901s avid v4s are not comparable since they are different class of tire. dunlop D60 A2s is a comparable tire to the avid v4.
i would also look into yokohama avs es 100s. they should provide a good balance between grip and treadwear. i would have gotten those, but fm901s stick better which with the h22 that's what i wanted and i bought them dirt cheap too, $71 each free mounting and balancing.
kumho's imo are overrated, they are good for people who just like to pimp ride and not drive hard.
