Are all these things true:

1. The interior was hot
2. The car cranked fine, but wouldn't start
3. The car started when the interior cooled down a bit
4. After the car started it ran fine

If all of these are true, you might have a bad main relay. Listen to the car when it is cool outside. When you turn the key, all the dash lights go on, including the engine light. Listen for the click when the engine light goes off. That is the main relay. If you don't hear this click when the interior is hot, the main relay needs to be replaced. It is $60-$70 from the dealer and very easy to replace.
