take out the cotter pin. bust the castle nut lose. take the nut down and make it flush with the bottom of the bolt in the ball joint.

hammer it up.

i have also done the following: put a jack under the disc rotor and jact it up a little bit. Take a 4 lbs hammer and hit the lower control arm from the side. Give it a couple of good wack and it helps to losen it up. Hammering down the lower control arm helps.


If you aren't cheap like me you can probably go rent the tool to help remove ball joint from advance auto.
