You may have missed the point about Germany's cameras on the Autobahn and their street motion laws..... between cities, in the rural areas, there are no speed limits. You can drive fast
but you must maintain lane discipline, wear your seatbelt, stay in the right lane if you are going slower than trafic, get into the right lane if someone comes up on your tail, and obey all motion laws (which include u-turns). Germany has speed limits on local streets and highways like we do, it's just that thier approach to driving is sooooo much more serious than ours. Hell, BMW didn't even offer cup holders in their AMERICAN cars untill about 5 years ago. They still don't in their German counterparts. Their laws are more motion oriented than velocity oriented. For instance, you can get a serious fine for just fipping off someone. Because it is proven that poor motion judgement rather than speeding is the main cause of accidents. I don't think, however, you can trust some air head to make the right decisions at any speed.
