you've given me a glimpse of hope. when you mentioned the dowel pin coming loose you reminded me of how with in the last week or two my shifter has loosened up, so that when its in gear it has about an inch of play from left to right and half an inch front to back back...which makes finding reverse abnormally difficult. anways maybe its all related.
i'll be putting it up on a lift tonight and tightening things up, and looking for any abnormalities, wish me luck...oh i'll be putting some H&R's on the soobie tonight as well 
i'm lovin the wrx so far, 12 second quarters here i come!!! oh and trust me i'm babying the tranny, i've only launched it a few times, no dumping on this clutch.
its an internal part. if you read, i told you the same thing happened to my tranny after i did my clutch. so im changing out the tranny some time this/next week.
