Default Check Engine Light

I recently bought a high flow converter for my car. When I installed it and turned the car on the CEL did not come on which I thought that was good then I remember my brother saying that when you install something on the car you usally have to do a days worth of drivng for the ECU to notice it. I thought that since it had been a day that nothing would happen well I was wrong. I was driving around today and all of a sudden my CEL came on

It might be another reason that the CEL came on but I am really positive that it is the converter since I got it installed a couple of days ago

Does anybody know what I can do to make the CEL go off and stay off even with the high flow converter? if not does anyone if it it will harm the car if I drive it with the CEL on? If there is no way to make it not come on with the high flow converter is on then I wasted $70 on a converter.
