about much of WWII. they make it seem like they weren't aggressive and such, and they don't mention the killing and torturing, etc etc etc. that is why my friend firmly believed that the "rape on nanking" incident never even took place - because that is what he learned as a kid in japan. i think he still believes that, even after graduating from high school in america.
sometimes i wonder if our history lessons are skewed too. i am sure they were, maybe up until the 60s. but the way our society and media is now, if any publisher did that, they'd be found out pretty quick and there would be a big scandal. heads would roll... i, for one, learned about america's cruelty towards native americans, and the japanese internment camps during WWII. we all learn about slavery, the civil rights movement...
