You can also wrap the 'U' shaped bracket on the hatch in electrical tape, which gives the same effect.
My 96 Teg always rattles somewhere. The worst is the hatch rattling and the windows rattling when halfway down.
The hatch rattle did go away with wrapping the U bracket in electrical tape, but now its back and the electrical tape has started to wear down and become mushed up. Has to be a more permanent fix.... I don't think my two rubber stoppers loosen at all, but I'll look after work.
As for the windows, either ride with em up or all the way down or blast the stereo so you don't hear it as much. I just don't have the desire to rip my door panels off to fix the rattle.
ANYONE else have a rattling moonroof?? It doesn't leak or anything, but rattles when its open.
When I first start my car (cold start after sitting a while), there's this "Grrrrrrrr" for 2 seconds right in front of the passenger seat. Still not sure what's causing this rattle. Oh well, I still love my Teg.
